OUR STORY

MEET TAMIKA
Tamika, the creative force behind it all, is much more than just an artist. Not only is she a marine biologist, she is a divemaster and just an all round ocean enthusiast!
She grew up in a small country town in South Australia, far from the ocean. But her love for the ocean shone through, influenced by many family trips to the coast. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to be a marine biologist but always had a strong desire to create.

Her later school years took her down a path of art and design where she aspired for a career in interior design, but a life-changing trip to Hawaii in 2018 changed her trajectory. The experience of dancing with manta rays reignited her spark for conservation and desire to protect the ocean.

After completing a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, she moved to Cairns in Far North Queensland to work on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef as a marine biologist. A significant part of her job involved educating guests on the importance of our reefs and raising conservation, which is something she is incredibly passionate about.

That’s where Tamika Heath Art comes in, combining her exceptional watercolour artistry with her deep knowledge and passion for marine conservation. Her creations are more than just artwork—they tell stories, inspire connections, and spark conversations about the beauty and fragility of our oceans.

Tamika’s mission is to reach as many people as possible through her art and share the beauty of our oceans, but also raise awareness around why we also need to protect them. Each piece is created with a story in mind, and we hope you can find your own special connection to the artwork you choose to bring home.
By supporting Tamika, you are also supporting marine conservation, as a portion of our profits go directly to charities and organisations aimed at protecting our oceans like Project Hiu and the Australian Marine Conservation Society.
